USS Anzio

The Anzio, commissioned in 1992, is a Ticonderoga-class cruiser named for the 1944 Allied landings in Italy—a campaign defined by determination under withering fire. Homeported in Mayport, Florida, she has deployed repeatedly to the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf, providing AEGIS air defense for carrier strike groups and striking distant targets with Tomahawk cruise missiles. She embodies the fighting spirit of her namesake in every deployment she has made.
